Water and Sewer Department
The Water Department staff handles billing for residential water, sewer, trash, and recycling.
The Sewer Department handles treatment of wastewater, generated by Tell City's citizens and industries, including those outside of our city limits.
Not only is the fire department tasked with protecting the citizens of Tell City, it also fights fires throughout a portion of Troy Township outside city limits, and is committed to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources to assist in fighting brush and structure fires in Perry County.
Parks and Recreation
Tell City's parks and recreational facilities are managed by Parks and Recreation Department. In addition, a board of Tell City residents, appointed by the Mayor, assist in the development of our eight parks.
Tell City Electric Department (TCED) has evolved into a modern municipal electric department with 4,165 customers and current assets of $20,360,723.00. TCED is governed by a Board of Directors appointed by the Mayor and City Council.
The Tell City Police Department is dedicated to serving the citizens with respect, courtesy, and professionalism. We invite all citizens to take a stand against crime in our community and report any suspicious activity.
The Street Department is responsible for managing streets and alleys. This includes maintenance/repair, paving projects, street cleaning, snow removal, and street signage.
Planning and Zoning
Tell City's Planning and Zoning Department has a two-fold mission: ensure the safety of our citizens and promote the smooth operation of the community's various businesses and industries.
If Tell City were a corporation, the Clerk-Treasurer would be our Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the community's financial activities, management of city tax revenues, maintaining property records, city personnel/payroll management, and a wide variety of administrative functions.
