The Tell City Police Department

With 12 full-time, sworn law enforcement officers; six telephone/radio dispatchers; and seven reserve law enforcement officers, the Tell City Police Department serves more than just the citizens of Tell City. The Perry County Emergency Medical Service, town of Troy, Cannelton, Perry County Sheriff's Department, and the Tell City Electric Department also make use of Tell City's state-of-the-art radio dispatch communications facilities and services.

Tell City's police department personnel are also some of the most highly-trained individuals in our community, covering a wide variety of situations including: hostage negotiations, crisis intervention, barricaded subjects, rapid-response to school incidents, rapid-response to workplace incidents, homicide investigations, sexual assault investigations, crime scene preservation, crime scene photography, accident reconstruction, OC spray, non-lethal force using pepperballs and Tasers, bomb response, arson investigation, fire scene investigation, robbery/burglary investigation, suicide intervention, emergency medical dispatching, family/domestic violence intervention, drug investigations, underwater evidence search/recovery, and community policing.
